| El Fuerte ruins |
We loved Samaipata! We spent about a week in this cool little town near Santa Cruz. We visited pre-Incan ruins and on our last day camped at a small zoo/ animal refuge nearby. I'm so glad we did because within minutes of arriving, we had monkeys jumping all over us. The zoo only takes in animals that need to be rescued and the monkeys are only caged if they're aggressive. There were ocelots, macaws, tapiers, but we were pretty preoccupied with the monkeys. Here are some pictures:
